New details on Batista’s injury

As reported on earlier, new WWE Champion Batista went into last night’s Extreme Rules PPV with what was believed to be some kind of a torn biceps muscle. His injury was said to be a factor in why the Batista vs. Randy Orton Steel Cage match was so short. It is now being reported by PWInsider that Batista was diagnosed earlier today with a torn tendon in the biceps. One positive is that the injury is no longer believed to be a serious muscle tear meaning less time out of the ring. The tendon tear is believed to have taken place about three weeks ago, but there is no clear idea when it took place. A few sources believed it was simply attributed to wear and tear since his return to the ring. Batista is now scheduled to undergo surgery to repair the tendon tear tomorrow. The hope within WWE was that he would miss a short amount of ring time.
