The Hollywood Reporter has indicated that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will take on the role of Mark Kerr in a new A24 titled The Smashing Machine.
The film, written and directed by Benny Safdie, looks at the life of the two-time UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion, nicknamed “The Smashing Machine” because of his no-holds-barred fighting style.
A24 will finance the film, producing it alongside Johnson and Dany Garcia’s Seven Bucks Productions, Safdie’s Out for the Count banner, Eli Bush and David Koplan.
