Update on preliminary buyrate for Survivor Series

To update our earlier report, the preliminary PPV buyrate for WWE Survivor Series on November 21 was 239,000 worldwide buys with 125,000 domestic. Based on that domestic number, it would be one of the lowest numbers in Survivor Series history. Despite that, it ends up as the fifth biggest WWE PPV of the year behind Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble, Summerslam and Elimination Chamber. Last year’s 2009 Survivor Series (doing 220,000 worldwide buys with 136,000 domestic) was considered a huge disappointment – so much so that Vince McMahon made the call to eliminate the show from the PPV schedule and later changed his mind.
