French company suing WWE for $21.6 million

According to an article by The Republican American, a French company is suing World Wrestling Entertainment for $21.6 million. WWE claimed a Portugese company they worked with violated a licensing agreement by selling counterfeit clothing to a French company that sold the products to supermarkets across France. In response, the French company filed the lawsuit back in July for the equivalent of $21,632,489 based on the current exchange rate.

One funny note regarding the article is they refer to World Wrestling Entertainment as “Linda McMahon’s wrestling company.” McMahon stepped down as CEO of WWE in prepartion for her current run for the U.S. Senate in Connecticut.
