More on Jerry Lawler backing out of deli in Memphis

One of the main reasons WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler decided to back out of being involved with a new deli in downtown Memphis, TN is because Joe Cooper (who was going to runt he place using Lawler’s likeness along with his memorabilia) wanted to serve beer. Anyone who knows Lawler is aware that is very strongly against alcohol.

Lawler added, “Joe wanted to sell beer at the deli. And I’ve never in my life, I mean never, ever, tasted alcohol. At that point I wanted a little more control over what went on in the business rather than just throwing my name up there.”
