According to reports by various wrestling media, Afa Sr. was released by WWE within the last several weeks. He had been working with the company as something of a consultant when it came to suggesting talent. The release was made due to the recent cutbacks within the company. WWE’s John Laurinaitis is still scheduled to attend a June training camp held by Afa’s Wild Samoan Wrestling School in Leesburg, FL so it appears an association with WWE will still remain.
