To follow up on a report from Saturday regarding Travis Tomko and his status with WWE, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has confirmed that he was released some time back by the company. As noted in the earlier report, he was let go because of his dark match with Paul Burchill back in December where he wrestled with a torn pec and Vince McMahon thought he looked terrible in the ring. Vince was said to have become even more furious when discovering that Tomko had wrestled injured and that John Laurinaitis had brought him in for a match when he clearly wasn’t ready. Laurinaitis was said to have taken a lot of heat over the situation with many feeling Tomko should have had a full medical exam before being hired to see if there was a majory injury like that.
