Top TNA star tells talent he isn’t expected to return

Bully Ray informed talent at tonight’s 8/17 TNA live event in Hagerstown, Maryland that he isn’t expected to return to the company after Sunday and wanted to personally tell everyone goodbye according to a report by Mike Johnson.

Ray’s contract with TNA officially expires Sunday and the live event in Maryland is the last date remaining on his current deal. Based on what Ray told talent, it appears both Ray and TNA were unable to come to terms on a new deal.

What makes things even more strange is that Ray, along with Devon, is scheduled to be inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame this October at Bound for Glory in Japan. The company also setup a series between Team 3D, The Hardys and The Wolves that was expected to continue beyond the tapings in New York City. With the recent injury to Davey Richards and now Ray’s departure from TNA, it would appear any plans to continue the tag team series is now off. Ray has been with TNA since 2005 and was working as an agent backstage as well.
