AJ Styles, who is currently holding the TNA Championship outside the company with a storyline to crown a new champion in a tournament, is still only under contract with TNA until the end of the year according to a report by Dave Meltzer. This was reportedly the case as of a few days ago. Styles agreed to an extension back in August that kept him under a deal until the end of the year. Many were under the impression that he had agreed to a new deal with winning the TNA Championship at Bound for Glory and the current angle they are doing with him outside the company.
