New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 9 event on 1/4 drew 36,000 fans to the Tokyo Dome. It ended up as the biggest crowd for New Japan’s annual Tokyo Dome show in the last 13 years and didn’t feature any significant papering of tickets. Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling helped present the event in the United States on PPV this year for the first time.
