Deadline.com is reporting that DirecTV and Viacom are making “slow progress” according to DirecTV’s EVP Content, Strategy and Development Derek Chang. Price is remaining the core issue with the current negotiations. Chang stated that Viacom wants DirecTV’s payment for the channels to increase by more than 30% in the first year of a new contract. He added that DirecTV’s offer is lower than any other distributor.
