Jerry Neil passed along a document noting that the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission has made the decision to suspend all licensing for “combat sports events” scheduled after 3/12. This will prevent events for boxing, mixed martial arts and pro wrestling in the state. The decision was reportedly made over a “lack of funding” despite many pointing out UFC’s current lawsuit involving the Pay Per View tax in the state since 2004. The tax costs UFC around $80,000 per year and could possibly be repealed by the Oklahoma legislature.
