Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez to make pro wrestling debut at TripleMania

MMAFighting.com is reporting that former two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez will be making his pro wrestling debut.

The MMA star took part in a press conference yesterday afternoon to announce he would make his debut at AAA’s TripleMania event on August 3 in Mexico City.

“I will be an in-ring performer for sure. With more time learning this beautiful sport, great things will happen.”

Velasquez made his long awaited return to MMA at UFC on ESPN 1 back on February 17, where he lost to Francis Ngannou. The fight was officially ruled a KO, although Velasquez appeared to hurt his knee allowing Ngannou to finish the fight quickly.

Velasquez is best known for handing Brock Lesnar his second loss in the UFC back in 2010 at UFC 121, defeating Lesnar for the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

Last July, Velasquez worked out at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.
