PWInsider.com reports that a number of former ECW stars have been contacted by EVOLVE to appear at the upcoming 1/14/12 event in what will be one of the final wrestling events held at the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia before it is remodeled in February. CZW will be holding a event the same day in the afternoon before the EVOLVE event.
According to a new report by The Wrestling Observer, the new ownership group informed the wrestling promoters that the building would have its walls torn down and rebuilt into a 3,000 seat concert hall (the old setup held around 1,000 fans for pro wrestling and boxing). A restaurant is planned to be added as well. When it re-opens, the rent price for the building will be “raised considerably” leading many to believe that indy promoters in the area won’t be able to afford it.
