In other first round action, Togi Makabe beat Satoshi Kojima, Manabu Nakanishi over Yujiro Takahashi, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Hirooki Goto, and Togi Makabe beat Satoshi Kojima. Thus, in the second round, MVP will face Makabe.
