Austin Aries on his deal with Impact Wrestling
During a media call on Thursday, Impact World Champion Austin Aries revealed he’s not actually signed to an exclusive contract with Impact Wrestling at this time.
Aries revealed that discussions with Anthem began as soon as he became a free agent, noting that he was initially just coming in to work behind the scenes. Those talks then turned into him becoming an in-ring talent when the executive structure changed.
Aries said he didn’t feel any pressure being the main focus of a company that is trying to rebuild at the moment. He said being able to work independently outside of the company interested him the most, adding that he likes to “collect belts.”
