No press release over Umaga and WWE

WWE’s announcement today regarding Umaga (Eddie Fatu) violating the company’s Wellness Policy for a second time and refusing to go to WWE-ordered rehab was the first Wellness Policy violation that wasn’t announced via press release to the media. While an announcement appears on the WWE Corporate website at this link and a statement was put on WWE.com earlier today, all Wellness Policy violations were made public through a media press release since November 2007. A WWE spokesperson told The Sun in the UK yesterday that all suspensions would be announced publicly. It is possible they may classify a firing over a violation and refusal for rehab as something completely different in itself.
