UFC star Matt Brown criticizes former WWE star CM Punk isn’t a fighter: “He doesn’t deserve to fight in the UFC with no fights”

UFC star Matt Brown, who lost to Demian Maia during the preliminary card prior to UFC 198 last night in Brazil, spoke with The Fan Garage this week about former WWE star Phil “CM Punk” Brooks being scheduled to make his UFC debut later this summer against newcomer Mickey Gall.

Brown, an MMA veteran who has been with the UFC since 2008 sporting a 20-14 record, criticized the former WWE star for being granted a contract with the UFC before ever having any professional MMA fights. Punk is currently rehabbing from recent back surgery that postponed his planned debut.

“I didn’t criticize him for having his surgery if it was something necessary to do. I criticized him for the fact that he’s not a fighter. He doesn’t deserve to fight in the UFC with no fights. I don’t believe he deserves to fight in the UFC based off the name he made in pro-wrestling and I think he’ll figure it out when he fights in the UFC, he’ll figure it out the hard way. Or he can listen to me and that’ll be the easy way to learn.”
