TNA’s John Gaburick issued the following on Friday.
“TNA Impact Wrestling has released Awesome Kong. We wish her well in her future endeavors.”
Kong (Kia Stevens) was sent home by TNA last week after the first night of the UK tour following a backstage incident with Reby Hardy (Reby Sky) that reportedly got physical.
Update (6:36 p.m. ET): TNA also issued this additional statement to the media.
“We conducted an investigation and determined releasing Awesome Kong is the appropriate action in this case. Kong has been a great contributor to TNA and helped solidify the Knockouts as the best female division in professional wrestling. We thank her and wish her well.”
