Associated Press picks up the passing of Verne Gagne

The Associated Press has picked up the passing of wrestling legend Verne Gagne passing away on Monday at the age of 89. The article quotes WWE Hall of Fame “Mean Gene” Okerlund discussing how Gagne was one of the pioneers of pro wrestling.

“Verne was one of the pioneers. He put (pro wrestling) on the map in the early days when no one had seen it before. He was a task master without a question. He demanded a lot out of people and he got a lot out of people.”
