Country music star Toby Keith was described as the “lead man” in a group that was looking at purchasing TNA according to a report by Dave Meltzer. Jeff Jarrett, who has a relationship with Keith dating back to the beginning of TNA in 2002, was expected to be play a big role once again if the purchase went through. Jarrett announcing his departure from TNA effective 12/22/13 would seem to indicate the deal is off the table. He signed a non-disclosure agreement so the expecatation is that he will remain pretty quiet about leaving the company for the foreseeable future.
