Report: Things heat up again between Gawker, Hulk Hogan

According to a report by Mike Johnson, an “emergency hearing” took place earlier today in Tampa, Florida regarding Gawker.com and the Hulk Hogan sex tape. Gawker.com appealed the temporary injunction ordering all video clips and written descriptions be removed from online last week. While Gawker agreed to remove the video clip, the website refused to remove the written review arguing it should not be removed citing freedom of speech.

The court sided with Gawker on that issue. In response, Hogan filed a motion with the court stating Gawker need to be held in “contempt” by the court for refusing to adhere to the court order by placing a link to his sex tape footage on another website despite removing it from the Gawker.com website. Hogan argued that by removing the video and providing another link, the footage would fall under teh behavior Gawker was prevented from doing by the court order and is requesting Gawker pay monetary damages.
