Jerry Lawler was scheduled for an indy date in New York on November 21, five days after they shot an angle on Raw at Madison Square Garden where he was taken out by Sheamus. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Lawler’s people sent a text message saying “due to an ongoing storyline, Jerry Lawler can’t make his appearance.” The worst part was they ended up dropping the angle completely with Lawler giving a half hearted explanation on the air the following week and how he would now stay away from Sheamus.
