AAA Lucha Libre Worldwide announced on Thursday that the promotion will be coming to New York City to debut at Madison Square Garden on September 15.
AAA General Manager Dorian Roldán was on hand, along with a series of talent that also actively work for Impact Wrestling. This included Konnan, Tessa Blanchard, Impact Tag Team Champions The Lucha Bros and Impact Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie.
PWInsider reported that Impact executives Ed Nordholm and Scott D’Amore were also in attendance. No executives from AEW were present. AEW announced a partnership with AAA back in February shortly before announcing the signing of Kenny Omega.
