A new champion was crowned during tonight’s Christmas edition of Smackdown Live.
Rusev defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to become the new WWE United States Champion, ending Nakamura’s reign that started back in July at Extreme Rules.
This is the third time Rusev has captured the United States Championship during his career and his first championship reign in WWE since 2016.
