WWE ended up doing a title change at last night’s Smackdown tapings in Fresno, which will air next Tuesday night (December 25) on Christmas.
Rusev defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to become the new WWE United States Champion. The match took place during the main event of the tapings last night.
This is the third time Rusev has captured the United States Championship during his career. Nakamura won the title back in July at the Extreme Rules PPV, beating Jeff Hardy.
