John Cena and Kurt Angle qualify for WWE World Cup Tournament at Crown Jewel event

While initial details were not known yesterday, WWE has now revealed more details involving the upcoming World Cup Tournament taking place at Crown Jewel.

Eight talents from RAW and Smackdown Live will be taking part in the tournament taking place on November 2 live on the WWE Network from Saudi Arabia.

John Cena and Kurt Angle are now confirmed as the first two entrants. Angle qualified for the match winning a Global Battle Royal during RAW last night. Acting RAW GM Baron Corbin booked the match featuring a series of “jobber” talents. Angle ended up winning the match after he took part dressed as The Conquistador.

It was reported over the weekend that two World Cup qualifying matches would be taking place on Smackdown Live tonight, featuring Big Show vs. Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe. This will be Big Show’s first match back in WWE since last September. Big Show revealed during SummerSlam weekend he was already cleared to return.
