TNA revenue in 2008 sees big increase

Although not a public company like WWE, TNA Wrestling’s revenue in 2008 was described as increasing tremendously over the last year according to a new report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. This was largely due to a huge increase in merchandise sales, running a regular schedule of arena events and more revenue from Spike TV due to it being the first full year with the show being two hours.

It would also appear that TNA is more recession proof than WWE because such a high percentage of their revenue is fixed revenue from Spike and less is coming from overseas where declining currency has taken a toll despite the UK being TNA’s biggest overseas market. The company is not immune from some recent cost cutting (cutting talent or not renewing deals) and neither is any business at this point. We noted in an article on Tuesday that TNA had doubled its revenue every year since 2006.
