During a recent appearance for Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, Cody Rhodes confirmed his first defense of the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and it will be taking place before the NWA 70th Anniversary event on October 21.
Cody announced he would defend the NWA World Title against Willie Mack at the upcoming Ring of Honor television tapings on September 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The tapings will take place the day after the Death Before Dishonor PPV event.
Former champion Nick Aldis last defended the NWA World Heavyweight Title against Flip Gordon back in July at a Ring of Honor event. Aldis has secured a rematch for the title at the upcoming NWA 70th Anniversary event in Nashville on October 21.
