As noted in our report on Sunday, following WrestleMania 25 weekend there was no plans to continue using Ricky Steamboat in the ring and The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online reports that members of the WWE creative team were told not to even mention his name on the air because he was “done” as a character. Well that thought process was completely thrown out the window when it came to TV this week after they setup Chris Jericho vs. Steamboat for the Backlash PPV this Sunday.
