Shane McMahon issues his first public statement after being hospitalized for diverticulitis

Shane McMahon took to social media on Tuesday to to thank everyone for the well wishes sent his way after news broke yesterday that he has been hospitalized.

As reported on earlier, McMahon was hospitalized for acute diverticulitis and an umbilical hernia. McMahon was traveling in the Caribbean with his family when he developed a massive infection and ended up being hospitalized for several days in Antigua.

While many at first felt this might be a play off of the storyline shot two weeks ago where Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn attacked Shane, the hospitalization was confirmed as being legitimate with Shane sharing a photo from a New York hospital with his three sons.

As plans stand now, it would appear the hospitalization would leave Shane unavailable to physically compete at WrestleMania 34 in two weeks. The belief was that WWE was working towards building a tag team match at WrestleMania featuring Shane teaming with Daniel Bryan against the “fired” Owens and Zayn. That may no longer be a possibility.
